The Next Chapter of Civic Health

C4 Power Program grantees at our final convening in December 2024

Today we’re excited to share the second chapter of our Civic Health initiative and announce our first round of Advance and Build program grantees.

From 2021-2024, the Civic Health C4 Power Program supported a cohort of BIPOC-led 501(c)(4)s with funding, infrastructure development grants, coaching and technical assistance, opportunities for peer-to-peer exchanges, movement building, data access, experimentation and evaluation.

In 2024, we committed to continuing the Civic Health initiative through 2028 and beyond. The second chapter of Civic Health is made up for four programs—the ABCDs of Civic Health:

Advance BIPOC Power

Advance grants provide essential resources for BIPOC-led 501(c)4 organizations across Oregon and SW Washington to build political power through electoral organizing and integrated voter engagement.

Build Shared Infrastructure

Civic Health’s Build program supports BIPOC-led 501(c)4 organizations across Oregon and SW Washington to explore and develop shared infrastructure as a means to building collective political power.

Cultivate Capacity

The Cultivate program provides opportunities for training, coaching and technical support to strengthen skills and increase the number of people prepared to build independent political power.

Deliver an Effective Ecosystem

Through the Deliver program, Northwest Health Foundation funds organizations and programs outside of Civic Health that bolster an effective ecosystem for our Civic Health grantees.

*new to Civic Health

**After four years of the C4 Power Program, we recognized that some groups may no longer align with Civic Health’s priorities. We created transitional support grants to give these groups time to exit the program thoughtfully. We are also offering a transitional support grant to Ebony Collective CDC

Oregon Cohort

SW Washington Cohort
