As the Center for Philanthropy Building Manager, Matthew is responsible for oversight and management of the Center for Philanthropy, which is located in Portland’s historic Old Town Chinatown neighborhood.
Before joining Northwest Health Foundation, Matthew served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Andes highland region of Ancash, Peru, working with local communities to improve water quality and leading educational sessions on public health topics. Prior to the Peace Corps, Matthew worked for six years at Christ House, a nonprofit medical respite facility and permanent, supportive housing program for individuals experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC. During his time there, he assisted with oversight of the organization’s facilities, coordinated renovation projects and supported clients with case management needs and community-building events.
Matthew graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2011 with a B.A. in international studies and environmental studies.
His interests include cooking, traveling, biking, gardening and any other activity that takes him outside and into nature.
