Anita oversees and manages the investment, accounting, financial functions and operations of the Foundation. She is committed to ensuring typically confusing documents including financial documents are accessible to every type of brain.

Formerly, Anita served as the finance and operations director at Partnership for Safety and Justice (PSJ) where she kept the books for their 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) and political action committee. Earlier in her career  Anita worked at MRG Foundation (now Seeding Justice) and led the Community Alliance of Tenants from 1996 through 2003. Her interest in finance began at age 16 when she worked as a receptionist for a CPA and local accounting software firm.

Anita graduated from University of Oregon with a B.S. in sociology in 1992. From 2009 to 2010, she participated in Nonprofit Association of Oregon’s Communities of Color Community Builders program. She has served on Basic Rights Oregon and Partnership for Safety and Justice’s boards of directors, as well as Grantmakers of Oregon & Southwest Washington’s Program Committee.

Anita lives in southeast Portland with her partner, the world’s most perfect puppy and two grumpy tortoises. She’s also a SCUBA diver and spends most of her undersea time in the cold, cold waters of the Pacific Northwest.
